We took an ~ 4 mile round trip hike from the trail head just above Green Mountain Falls up to the Catamount Reservoir.

Catamount falls at the base of the trail:

Up we go:

Tree fungus:

There were a bunch of trees here that must have been knocked partially over in a mudslide, and then started to grow upwards again:

Takin' a break and looking back down the mountain:

Up after the first crest of the trail, we found ourselves in a valley aptly named 'The Garden of Eden':

Big Tree:

Quite beautiful:

At the base of the falls coming into the last stretch up to the reservoirs.

Two hours later (slow going for sea-level dwellers up at ~9300 feet), we made it to the reservoir:

Pikes Peak. The little tiny rectangle on the summit is the visitor's center, from where I took a picture of the reservoir a few days prior.

A pool on the other side of the dam.

We had to beat the oncoming rain on the trip down. But we survived.
